Sai Vaibhav - Chess Tournament during Ganesh Festival - 2018




On occasion of Ganesh Festival – 2018; Prerana Chess Academy – in association with Sai Vaibhav Co-Op. Housing Society, Pimple Saudagar, Pune; organized one day rapid chess tournament on Saturday – September 22nd 2018.

Total 16 players participated in this tournament.


Tournament was based on FIDE Rules and was conducted using Swiss League format.
Total 25 minutes time control was given for each game and 4 rounds were conducted to find the winner from this Tournament.

Pradip Pate and Madhura Pate – State Certified Arbiters; acted as Arbiters for this Tournament.


Atul Gupta – was declared as the Winner of the tournament. He won all 4 out of 4 games.
Arya Gajare – who won 3 out of 4 games was declared as Runner Up of the Tournament.
All players enjoyed the tournament.



Society management thanked Pradip Pate and Madhura Pate; for conducting the tournament in much professional way.


Pradip Pate – talked about the objective behind conducting the tournament in various societies. He told the audience that in our country of 135+ crore population; we don’t have even 135 grand masters so far; and hence with objective of creating awareness and spreading knowledge about Chess as Sports; we are carrying out various activities such as conducting tournaments; conducting workshops.

Vasnat Avenue Ganeshotsav Chess Tournament - 2018


On Occasion of Ganesh Festival, Prerana Chess Academy, Pimple Saudagar, Pune conducted Chess Tournament in 3 different societies in Pimple Saduagar. Vasant Avenue was one among those 3 societies.

Prerana Chess Academy in association with Ganeshotsav Festival Committee; Vasant Avenue Co-Op. Housing Society, Pimple Saudagar, Pune organized One Day Rapid Chess Tournament at Club House of Vasant Avenue; on September 22nd2018.

Total 21 players participated in this tournament.

 

Pradip Pate and Madhura Pate of Prerana Chess Academy, Pimple Saudagar – acted as Chief Arbiter and Assistance Arbiter respectively for this Tournament.

Pradip Pate, State Certified Chess Arbiter; explained the rules of the Chess Tournament to all the participants before starting of the tournament.

This tournament was conducted in 5 rounds in Swiss League format; with 25 minutes time control for each game.

All players enjoyed participating in this tournament.


Neel Kumar was declared as winner of the Tournament; after 5th Round. He won all 5 games.

Om Jagdish was declared as Runner up of the Tournament with 4 points from 5 rounds.

Vasant Avenue management committee was really impressed and thanked to Prerana Chess Academy for conducting this tournament in much professional way.

Both Madhura Pate and Pradip Pate were given Tulasi Plants as token of their appreciation.

Laxmi Aangan Ganeshotsav Chess Tournament - 2018

Date - September 16th 2018 : Laxmi Aangan Chess Tournament

Prerana Chess Academy, conducted One Day Rapid Open Chess Tournament at Laxmi Aangan Ganesh Festival on September 16th 2018. Total 16 players from different age groups participated in this tournament.

Pradip Pate - Co-Founder of Prerana Chess Academy and Certified State Arbiter, explained the Rules of the Tournament and also clarified doubts or queries of various chess players; before starting actual tournament.

Madhura Pate - Maharashtra State Certified Chess Arbiter; acted as Assistant Arbiter in this Tournament.


The Tournament was conducted using Swiss League format. Which gave opportunity to every player to play all the rounds.

There were 4 Rounds conducted to find the winner of the tournament.

Following is the Final Rankings ..
Prerana Pate (11 Years) become the undefeated clear Winner of the Tournament.
Saurbh Singh scoring 3 out of 4 became Runner Up for this Tournament.

Siddhant Kukreja - First Prize and Devesh Deasi - Second Prize in U-15 age category.
Avneesh Pate - First Prize and Ish Prabhu - Second Prize in U-10 age category

This Ganesh Festival - We are targeting to Conduct One Day Rapid Chess Competitions in 3 Societies in Pimple Saudagar (Laxmi Aangan, Vasant Avenue and Sai Wastu - as our Duty Towards Social Cause)

This is purely volunteer activity

Objective is to spread awareness about Chess as a Sports

Chess Competition Rules
1. Competition is Open One Day Rapid Chess Tournament
2. All international FIDE rules applicable

  • 2-1 : Touch to play is applicable
  • 2-2 : En-passent is applicable
  • 2-3 : Using one hand only for playing one move
  • 2-4 : No mobile phone allowed
  • 2-5 : Castling - Short Castling and Long Castling allowed with applicable rules
  • 2-6 : Stalemate results in a Draw
  • 2-7 : Checkmate ends the game
  • 2-8 : in case clock is used; the person whose time finished losses the game
  • 2-9 : second illegal is lost; but both illegal moves needs to be brought to Arbiters attention
  • 2-10 : Fair play is expected from every individual

3. Tournament will be conducted in Swiss League form. I.e. even if a player looses first game is eligible to play second round and so on
4. Each win will earn 1 point, draw will earn 0.5 point and loss will get 0 points
5. Maximum 5-6 rounds will be taken based on number of participants
6. Each participant must be present at the tournament venue before 30 minutes of actual round start 
7. Each game will be of 20 minutes. If result does not come in 20 minutes; each player will be given 5 minutes each to finish the game. 
8. One illegal move is allowed; second illegal will be declared as loss for that game
9. Arbiters decision will be final. No arguments will be entertained.
10. Result will be prepared and provided to Festival Committee and prize distribution will be sole responsibility of respective organizing committee.
11. Prerana Chess Academy is volunteering this activity purely to promote Chess as a game and this should not be treated as commercial activity.

Pre-requisites : For making the tournament successful following things are required
1. Number of Tables required = (Total entries /4 ) + 1
2. Number of Chairs required = Number of entries + 2
3. Mike + speakers .. to address the audience
4. Power connection for Laptop
5. if possible .. Printer and A4 size 10-15 papers
6. Tables and Chairs has to be arranged before time
7. Couple of volunteers to assist during the tournament
8. Cooperation from all society members to maintain silence when actual games are in progress

Prerana to Represent Pune District in Maharashtra State Chess Selection Tournament in June 2018


Prerana Pate, from Pune has won all 7 out of 7 games and won the title at the District Selection Chess Tournament held at Pune on 24th to 26th February during Pune Mayor's Trophy - District Selection Chess Tournament 2018 in U-11 Girls Category.

Prerana won all 7 out of 7 games; She played against Shrawani Kolhe (4 Points), Sakshi Mane (3 Points), Mrunmayee Bagve (4.5 Points), Siddhi Dhadwe (3 Points), Aditi Yogesh Kayal - (6 Points), Mittal Ayushi (5 Points) and Aanya Roy (5 Points) and won against all these players.

If this would have been a FIDE Rating Tournament; She would have earned 58 Points. Her performance rating was equivalent to 1823; which is very high compared to her current rating of 1067.


Prerana had been awarded with a beautiful trophy + certificate + Mayor's Trophy Jacket + Rs. 5000/- Prize (which should be transferred to her account)


Prerana receiving award in Presence of Gokhale Sir, D'souza Sir and other respectable personalities in Chess.

Prerana would be representing Pune District in Maharashtra State Chess Selection Tournament in Month of June - at Nandurbar.
